Before the website came to exist, this was a business conducted through social networks and in-person. Three of my partners and I decided to build a website to increase profits. We registered the domain in January 2010, and after two months of building, the website was created.

Our website, AuthenticShack.com, has a very catchy name that allows people to easily remember it over other generic website names selling clothing. We first sold soccer jerseys through Facebook; when we acquired another source we began selling shoes as well. Since then, we have acquired four more sources and we have not been able to transfer all of the products to our page. As of today, our website sells soccer jerseys, shoes, hats, and more. All of our sources products are not on our site because of time constraints. All of the soccer jerseys and soccer shoes from our sources are on our site, but more hats, shirts, sweaters, casual shoes and athletic shoes can be added through Magento e-commerce software. Our site already hosts many items, but there are still hundreds of items that can be added, and increase revenue.

Our site also includes the award-winning affiliate script, Post Affiliate Pro 4. Since the amount of profit to be made is grand, we customized our affiliate system to attract many. We have also setup monthly affiliate contests that motivate affiliates to earn as many sales as they can to win a prize. April’s grand prize was a copy of FIFA 10 and a free jersey of choice. Current State

As explained above, before AuthenticShack.com even existed, the business was already in motion. Most of the money we received was in cash, and a small proportion was in our PayPal account.

When building our site, we purchased a logo and customized slides that are present on our home page. In addition, Post Affiliate Pro 4 was purchased and connected to our website. The default sign up page was abysmal, and now is customized to fit the site.

We believe that success comes from the community. We rely on word of mouth and great reviews. We aim to keep customers and affiliates satisfied. In reference to this, we have also added a community forum that allows for customers, affiliates and administrators to communicate together.

Every time we put our “Mercurial Vapor Superfly” replica soccer cleats on EBay, they were sold for at least $120 US with at least 30 people watching those auctions (if you put up more shoes, you’ll get more sales). We cannot show you more of our income simply because there is no way of tracking the sales we made to family and friends.

In April 2010, we switched to HostGator.com and they are noticeably better than our previous host. Our previous host did not have the ability to track visits, but with HostGator, we achieved over 1000 unique visitors with a two hour marketing blitz on Facebook. Our website was down in June as I (webmaster) was on vacation and was not able present to manage the website and put it up for sale.

We have orders that were already placed on our website, but we had to cancel them because we cannot sell our goods to a customer, and then switch ownership and have a new owner provide support to existing customers from the get-go; which leads to the next topic…

Reason for Sale

We are continuing to make reasonable income. For one person, this is a significant income; however, we must split this into four equal amounts.

Due to complications, one of our member’s is in need of financial support due to personal reasons and we have decided to sell AuthenticShack.com. As we are all students, this amount is too great to pay off along with post-secondary loans that will need to be paid monthly.

We will be giving away our Twitter and Youtube accounts. Twitter is a great way to communicate to followers of any products updates, and Youtube can be a great advertising tool (example, uploading soccer videos with AuthenticShack.com watermark).
