    Default Work versus Facebook

Do you find it a struggle balancing the time you should be working against your addiction to Facebook?

If the answer is yes then you are exactly the same as me. :cheerful:

For this reason I have now moved the creative side of work into another room in the house. So it's only a minor stuggle now

LMAO Mike. Why do you think I've had to make the move?

Seriously though you know I'd stay up all night if it meant getting something finished for a client:angelic:

Same here except it isn't facebook that keeps me from getting something done lol especially if what I'm 'suppose' to do isn't at all interesting to me.

I think I can honestly say I do not have that problem. Facebook is good for networking. But I am far from addicted to it. I have been known not to log in for several days at a time sometimes.

I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Facebook. That's where I met LeenkzMike :happy-f:

As for not logging in for several days I was offline at home for almost a week, and became just as addicted to Facebook mobile as I did to the real thing!!!

As far as facebook specifically I have grown bored with it and actually posted a message to it a week or so ago that I am now retired from it. As far as balancing my online and offline world, I am fortunate that they are so intertwined that even when I am playing I still am working.

I don't have an addiction to Facebook, since I haven't really gotten into it yet.

At first, I just couldn't understand why people liked it. Then I started getting messages from old school friends etc. That gave me a sense of its amazing reach. Now that I've been adding friends, I keep seeing all their updates when I log in. I can start to see why people just can't leave it alone.

Still, I'm not hooked. (And frankly I hope it stays that way.) So, no struggle as yet ...

I agree with you EmcardsEm. That's why I spend a lot of time facing my computer. And it really destruct my work. That's why sometimes I'm taking with my self and saying last five minutes then untill it takes an hour haha,

Yes I do struggle with balancing facebook and work. I actually limit myself to 5 minutes per day on Facebook because it gets so distracting.

Since my original post, I have gotten more disciplined. Now I can work on the PC and have Facebook open in another tab, which more often than not, then shows my online status as idle.

LOL, I think everybody who works online has had trouble concentrating every now and then. The important thing is simply to focus on the task at hand and close any windows that are not relevant to that task. Just a bit of will power is all it takes.

Luckily my job IS being on Facebook, so i don't really have to worry about that. But I do think it can suck up a lot of time if you're not careful. There are programs that will automatically log you out of Facebook if you go over a preset daily time limit. I've found that to be helpful in the past.
