Thread: How long do you work?

Now that we know you work at home, how often/long do you work a day?
I usually work on and off. I really can't stand sitting in the chair for hours at a time; hurts my bum. :P

No set time, I have my main notebook that I sit on my couch or where ever I might happen to be at the time.

How I wish I could do that... I work in the office and that takes 8 hours daily..

8-9 hrs . but most of the time it will be based on amount of work to be done..

I typically work 4 hours in the morning and then 2-3 hours in the afternoons and 3 hours after I get the kids down. I try to break it up so I can be a "mom" and not spend all my time away from my kids. I love that flexibility.

I'm like you, Kaos, mostly in the mornings, and a bit in the evenings.

I have been finding that I get a LOT more accomplished in the mornings than in the same amount of times in the evenings... AFTER I read about the daylight hours having some kind of "productive energy" in that time, and the dark hours having much less of it... it's really time for sleeping and recharging, despite the advent of electricity we cannot change the innate purpose of day and night!

When I'm home, I'm usually on the computer because it's in the living room with the TV just to my left.. kitchen to my right. I take short breaks here and there then come back on to surf some more.

for me it depends on work load, i have gone 4 days without sleep and surviving on just energy drinks and coffeeeeeeeeeeeee but normally I work 5 hours a day

You friends may not believe me but I work 9am to 6pm (9 hours) Daily in office and after coming back I work for like 4-5 hours. I do my freelance work from home in those 4-5 hours.

So I work like 13-15 hours daily

My usual 24 hour day is as follows.

830am Wake up.
9 - 6 (or 8 or 10 depending on other people) At work.

6 ( or 8 or 10) - 1 am designing / free time.

1 am - 830am sleep.

As many hours as it takes to do what I need to do which usually ain't ever enough so I roll over the hours I needed to the next day, I'm currently seeing a backlog of , 44,346,635 hours I need to catch up on.

Same here Kev, I kind of like it, keeps my mind out of the gutter. :twisted:

I was the same and it feels good getting caught up and busy again, though it seems everyone and his brother knows I am working again, lol.

I work all day everyday, and it sucks because I'm still not RICH! LOL

Actually, being rich isn't my goal.. just having enough to be able to walk into a McDonald's and not have to look at the prices would satisfy me..

I have a bad habit of asking the BF AS I am eating "so how much was this?" with my love for steaks, ribs, I end up getting the best meals on the menu... without looking at price... I guess I should feel bad for the BF, maybe I'll let him have McD's tomorrow... LOL! :sick: He hasn't eaten it since they poisoned him in April.

I usually treat myself to buffet a couple times a week so I can get my fill.. buying for one sucks as so much goes to waste. There's a lot I won't buy because I end up throwing it out before I can eat it.

My ex-GF ate like a bird for the most part.. ate burgers and anything with grape jelly. Had a fit if I tried to get her to eat my cooking or something different (nutricious). When we went out to eat, she'd invariably order a tenderloin sandwich.

I know how that feels, when I was working for a well known CD/DVD company I started in may and a year later guess what, yep I still had jobs that where given to me on that very first day that hadn't been completed!

Anywhere from 0 to 16 depending on how much needs to be done

Hey, I know a rich guy that scrutinized prices far more than I do... and I'm quite far from rich... perhaps that's how he got rich, lol!

And I get stuck buying her Lobster/Prime Rib dinners.

Ok, well I pay for any groceries he wants and all the crap he sticks in my wal-mart cart. LOL!

I splurge on her, and she helps me coast by. xD

I work from home and work.. Let me be a bit more specific. I have a home office in my basement, adjacent to my kids playroom and my entertainment system. This way I can watch a bit of TV, hang with the kid and get some work done. I do this at night.

In the morning, I go to work at my office (where I do pretty much the same thing)... I am usually in the office from around 9AM to 7PM. I get my kid around 3PM every day and bring him to the office so mommy can go to work. He hangs here with me, again, where there is a playroom for him and plenty of things to do.

Once we get home, we let the dog out, eat, watch some TV and it is back to work.. Kid goes to bed around 10 or so.. I do some more work, and I end up in bed around 2AM, sometimes later, then up around 6AM or so, watch some news, ride my bike 5-10 miles, then get some more work done at home and head to the office all over again!

I take the weekends off! 100%, I do not go to the office unless it is an emergency. If I have something going on, or a client needs me, I can usually handle it from home.

I work at nights , since in the morning I have school , after that I always hangout at the pool hall or when the weather allows I hangout on a basketball court And other days I go to gym , so about everyday I get home 10 or 11 pm , Then I watch TV for like 2 hours.
So 1 am.I Usually start to work on designs and websites , I end 3 sometimes 4 am.
And I wake up about 7 : 30 am.

It's not always like this , but out of 10 days , 8 are like that.
But coffee and coca-cola keeps me going.
I mostly sleep at the weekends to

I work on average 17mins a day. The rest of the time I am my daughter's play pal

Working for the last 16 hours...continuously! Well few bad people motivated me!

Well I worked for more than 20 hours continuously today!

Dude you need to rest , otherwise youre job quality suffers , so does your health -

But nowdays who cares about the health anyways right ?
