Default How important is it to you to become your own boss?

Have you ever thought about really finding a real job opportunity from home. I have been in research for many different job opportunities to work from home. I can honestly say I have found quite a few. I have a main one making $800-$1000 every two weeks. What about yourself. Have you even thought about working for yourself? Have you came across the right opportunity?

In terms of employment, I can't think of anything more important than working for myself.

But then...it wins by default because I can't think of anything worse than having to work for someone else

I'm kinda stuck in the middle of that question.

I enjoy doing client work, becuase I get told what to do. and it makes life easy.

However, I dont like being scolded, and commanded to do things.

So I'd rather be my own boss, but rather be told what to do at the same time? lol.

Do the work in which you are xpert.

There are a lot of opportunities in net, you have to find them and use them . You have to use your brain to find them. Work from home is not easy at the begining. But once you know the secret , it is very easy. But still you can't be lazy...

Well working from home online, is a very challenging task! Well you don't get to know much what to do and what not! It is you who fails....fails...and ultimately learns what is best for you!

Well I had always thought of working for my own sites! But, at startups you have to take other's work also as where would you get the money from if you didn't!

I'm just blessed to be afforded to be able to be a stay at home dad. My wife comes home and tells me about the NTAC's she has to deal with everyday and I think to myself that my hair is gray enough already!

Since im still a student , working at home is the only way to make some real cash.
    I make about 100 - 300 $ week right now.
But last month i got the big fish - when I finish that project - I get 3000 $ from there.
I plan to invest that money on my business - same thing with next time I get more money and so on.
Another 2 - 3 years I plan to work at home after that rent some business rooms -
and make my business more person to person.

    Default After 3 downsizings

and almost going through a fourth. I have also had many poor managers ,endured lots of work-related stress till my stomach is now in pretty bad shape, I am tired most times when I go into work and now I hate what I do, because it is usually going from one deadline to the next, I work in the Information technology industry. Because of my career, I have spent way too much time working and away from family and not enough down-time. I am getting too old to continue to do this for the rest of my life, which is pretty much the direction I am headed in due to no savings stemming from all of the down-sizings I went through. Yep, I'd say, working from home has become my utmost goal in life.

    Thanks for letting me share...

Thats is always important to me too, to be sure no matter what happens in life I have other income to fall back on. Corporate America has no loyalty to its employees anymore and if we find my husband without a job, we are still happy to know we have our internet businesses to support us. It takes away alot of pressure in my life.

^ Yup! And if your smart enough to not quit your day job and just start your business online than your smarter then I was :-) It will work out if you have the determination and dedication. Thats all it really takes in my opinion. You'll figure out what works if your determined!

Being my own boss is one of my life goals. Right now I'm moving into a second career and just finishing up school fulltime, so I've had to be self employed so that I can work at the odd hours when I am not buried in books. I'm getting into making independent income being self employed, but once I'm done school I'll need to be employed for all sorts of weird reasons for a few years. I figure that will give me time to get my own business stable.

Having a second income is never a bad thing, and there's something to be said for earning it through your own ideas and efforts, with no one else taking the credit but you.

    Default working from home

I can say that I have tried both working at home and working at a job and based on these experiences, I have to say, working at home is much better. It is not as stressful and you can work around you life instead of having your life work around your job. I am currently working on establishing a work at home business. One that will allow me lifestyle and freedom. I want no more drudgery.

    Thanks for letting me share....

    Yours in Success,

Speaking from experience work at home, your own business can put 100x the stress on your shoulders that a regular job does. The 'freedom' isn't all it's cracked up to be either as times you will need to put 10x the amount of hours in, plus you do not have others to take over for you, vacation time, etc.

Of course this depends on business to business, I just know so many people who think 'oh you're self employed' you can do what you want when you want. To a degree this can be true, but it can also be much, much harder and worse off than having a standard 9-5

I agree, I think working from home, for me personally has equaled alot more stress and hours but I can deal with the stress better for some reason. I have no one to blame but myself if sales/revenue slip for the month. The stress is somehow more rewarding when you have no one to worry about except your own head yelling at you. Maybe its a personality of a person of which works best for them. Some like having set schedules by other people, I like making my own goals and timelines. I am strict on myself to keep them (normally) but its better to be able to customize my workday to my own strengths and time of day.

For me it's very important to work from home. With my 4 kids it's costly to pay for babysitting. Also my wife is a RN so she makes l00t as well as gets good benefits. I have the luxury of making some money online and enjoying my kids at the same time.

I have got the little experience of 5 years in making online money, and now getting handsome money online. I will not say that I am making $500 a week, but I will just point out that If you do around 6-7 hours daily it will be easy for you to make $100 a week easily.

This is just the forum posting job as you and me are doing here, you will be paid for this job. If you want some more information about this job, just hit me a PM.

Keep in mind, if you are on the internet, you can make money.
So if I spend 40 hours a week on the net, and I make xxx amount of money, that is not the same as working 40 hours for some company.
Look at it this way, I spend time on forums.
That brings me in a few bucks a day.
But it is something I would of done anyway, being on the forums.

I'm already my own boss. It's great. You can actually have a nightlife without having to worry about work the next morning. Saying that though, yes I can choose to have a day of when I want, but I'm still working over 60 hours a week. Being your own boss doesn't mean that you can relax and the money will come in, it still involves a lot of commitment from you and work and the only downside of being your own boss is that you have all of the liability about the running of your business.

Dear, You have made more than 6500 posts there and if someone pays you around 500$ for these posts than whatis the problem in it ? You are paid for enjoying. I think this is not the bad deal. Is this ?

Because $3.33 per hour is well below minimum wage whether you enjoy your job or not, well at least here in Canada or the States.

Some people you hire for forum posting may not like the forum subject they're given, or do they get to choose?
