Thread: Children Thrown off Bridge by Father

BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities are searching Alabama's coastal waters for the bodies of 4 children after police say they were thrown off a bridge by their father.

Police say the Irvington man confessed last night to driving to the Dauphin (DAH'-fin) Island bridge, stopping and tossing the youngsters off. The bridge is as high as 80 feet above the water in places.

The children ranged in age from four months to 3 years old. Police say the suspect is the biological father of 3 of the children and raised the fourth from infancy.

I have just heard on the news here that they have called off the search because it is too dark and that prompted me to find the news story

This is why I say some people shouldn't breed. I hate people that do this to kids.

Don't know what that's supposed to mean, but, there ain't no honor in that. That guy is sick.

i read that earlier today, it's horrible...

just like the one where they found 4 dead children in a house, been there for 2 weeks, and a lady actually answered the door when the cops came...acted like nothing was out of the normal...sickening

i like to know what's going on in the world, I check CNN and a few other places 5-10 times a day...though ya...it's crazy the amount of things that go on like this

Things like this have always gone on .. it's just that now we have it more accessible than ever before.

That is true.

Recently, we have a 14 year girl who threw her newborn baby down 20 stories to its death. Amazingly, she was able to hide her pregnancy from her family, friends and school.

Also, we had a mother who disposed of her 3 year child in a rubbish dump. His body was never found. She claimed the child choked to death but of course nobody believes her. But there is no evidence to bring more serious charges and she was only jailed for 3 years...

i'm suprised she even got 3 years if they never found the body to prove the child did indeed die

I believe these are some of the worst offenders of all ... the parent or parents who take the life of a child. Those young moms disgust me. I wish sometimes that they should lock them in a cell with angry moms.

i'm the same way there...i understand the whole arguement of these moms being crazy and off their rocker and such sometimes...but when i see stuff like this...i just don't seem to care what state the person is in...to do stuff like that to a child is unforgivable

It's always so sad to hear things like this cause there's so many couples out there looking to adopt, all she would have had to do was leave her baby at a hospital instead of resorting to something so horrible she's sure to regret for the rest of her life. :ssad:

I think if I ever got to the stage that I didn't want my kids, I would just disappear. Killing them would never enter into the equation.

They're going to try and seek the death penalty for this monster.

It seems we are about to get an epidemic of child murders here, I hope the social services brush up their act quickly.

After some of the pointless deaths in Australia, it was found that the parent/s were under investigation/in talks with DOCS prior to the deaths.
