Fantastic, just as the world is melting from carbon over-emission, now a plan to bring those fossil fuel-burning machines to the masses. I'd have nightmare too. And just how is the poor going to afford the soaring fuel prices anyway?
54mpg... meh... we'll see about it.

Ahh but 50's mpg even if it increases the amount of cars, if it gets rid of some of the 20's mpg or worse cars it can be better in the long run.

Yeah, you can, but new is "new" and it has much better fuel consumption I think.

Nope. These cars are designed to bring automobile transportation to literally millions and millions of people in places like India, much of south east Asia, Africa, Central and South America, many island nations and anywhere the normal price point of a car keeps these multi-millions (billions) of people out of the car market.

Even at 50 mpg its going to burn a shit tonne of gasoline and spew it into the atmosphere. There will end up being many many more cars on the roads than the few gas guzzlers they might replace.

Those cars are very unlikely to be able to be sold in the US, Canada, and European markets. May not meet our crash testing standards.

But one thing is for certain. This company will sell a lot of these things.

Will revolutionize the auto market in those regions like the VW bug did in Western nations in the 60's and 70's.

I think it's awesome, just the fact that a brand new car can be bought for 2.5 g's. Although I don't think most Americans would call that a car it's still off the chain.

As for bringing cars to these people, will it really help? I'm sure you've seen the pictures of cities in these nations on the news. They're literally packed whatever streets (dirt paths really) they have are jamb packed with donkey and mule carts. From the pictures it looks like it would be quicker to get out and walk rather than take a mule cart.. Cars are just going to add to the congestion and health issues. I'm guessing there air is pretty clean over there despite the animal poop smell.. Imagine the desert climate with smog like LA.

Still, I don't think I'll ever give up my love of the good old American V8.

The car is too small for the typical size man and family, whats the use of being cheap when it is not that practical, some fatter guys won't be able to squeeze in in the first place

It's not practical to be fat either, aside from it being unhealthy. Maybe it will convince some fatties to lose some weight so they can run and get one of these AMAZING cars. hahaha! :slaugh:

The cost of labor is cheaper in India so the car would be equivalent to around $10,000 built in the US market

Renault-Nissan is planning on building a car for under $3000 but the Tata beats the price at $2500
