If you are sick and experience the following warning, seek emergency medical care.

For children, emergency warning that immediate medical attention include:
* Rapid or difficulty breathing
* Skin color blue
* Not enough liquid to drink
* You do not wake up or not interacting
* Angry that the child does not want to be hold
* Flu like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough
* Fever with rash

In adults, emergency warning that immediate medical attention include:
* Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
* Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
* Sudden dizziness
* Confusion
* Strict or persistent vomiting

Cooperation of all the contaminated individuals to the medical authorities can prevent swine flu from spreading.

Sorry, and no offence, but that's some of the worst medical advice I've ever read.

The best advice is to stay home not to spread the virus. I don't think your job will argue with that.

Washing you hands
Don't touch surfaces, door knobs, seats in public transport etc and go to your mouth or nose

Yes indeed. It was just like now: a benign virus in Summer 1918, followed by a mutated virus in the Autumn which killed millions. So 'no big deal' could become 'monster big deal' when the flu season starts Sept-Nov.

You're right that the virus is a threat. It has killed a number of healthly people and it doesn't seem that there is any vaccine in production.

The current strain isn't that dangerous. But over the next couple of years it could mutate into a more virulent form. That it was happened during the 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic. It's believed that the original swine flu spread from Fort Riley Kansas in 1916. It didin't become virulent until 1918 after it was spread by US troops arriving in France in 1917.

Washing your hands is the best way to avoid this.

actually swine flu is just the same as normal flu but if you won't give it a dose of medicine, it will worsen up. just wash your hands every now and then or use sanitizers.

Swine flu was one of the most scariest things happened this year. I hope this sickness will be totally resolved.

There is really no chance that the swine flu will go away. All indications are that it is replacing H3N2 as the normal flu. It is thought to be a bit more dangerous than the H3N2 virus. If we look at past influenza pandemics, almost everybody on earth will be infected eventually. Therefore, there is no getting away from it. The big question now is if you haven't had it, should you get the vaccine when it comes out.

The swine flu is more dangerous because humans don't have as much immunity to it. Plus there is the chance that a killer strain could mutate.

Thanks for the post. I have some family in India where swine flu is creating some havoc right now. I will inform them about these symptoms so they can watch out.

In this situation being aware and educated is the best precaution.
