Thread: Egypt tombs not build by slaves?

I have read in yahoo news that Egypt tombs were not build by slaves but by freeworkers now I wonder if what is the difference between the two? And I grown of age believing that Egypt tomb and pyramid is build by slaves it was even shown in old movies

even in holy books, please correct me if I am wrong

I agree that it doesn't matter so much, but the builders did a lot of work and we can see their work right now. But how did they find out that they were free laborers?

The thing of this is is that we may never know the truth but it is some thing that interests me very much every thing that happen during this time period I would love know the truth behind it all.

I have wondered if it was even earth humans that did this work. but hey that is just me and my crazy mind wondering :goofy:

i beleive there are many mysteries that are still untold from ancient egypt, the best they can do is make educated guess's, there is not any actuall evidence of people building them. yes they found a grave yard next to the pyramid, but that is to be expected after 5000 or more years.

Ofcourse that was slaves. there is no other way.

Well the pharaohs pictured them self as gods so it is quiet possible that people helped building a pyramid on their free will.

New tombs found in Giza support the view that the Great Pyramids were built by free workers and not slaves,as these tombs were built beside the king's pyramid, which indicates that these people were not by any means slaves.

Personally I think it was most likely a combination of both slaves and free workers.. would like to research this more as the pyramids have always interested me.

I would know the Egyptian pyramid was build by slave and the farao would enforce the people to work for building these tomb and pyramid. But i am confused about the word "free worker" generally it mean the worker who did not expect any salary for their work, in the another sense, people would work here but the king didn't paid any money to them. However if anyone work here on their own accord without any payment, they might had loyal citizen of the territory or they had any religious belief on it.
