Heavy smokers who get lung cancer may have tens of thousands of genetic mutations, U.S. researchers said on Wednesday.

A team at Roche's biotechnology unit Genentech in California compared all the genetic changes in a single patient's lung tumor with healthy tissue from the patient, a 51-year-old man who had smoked an average of 25 cigarettes per day for 15 years before the tumor was removed.

What they found were as many as 50,000 genetic mutations.

I used to smoke a few years ago. I don't know about gene mutations, but i was thoroughly fed up with coughing my guts up first thing every morning. Whichever way you look at it, the things are no good for you at all.

This is crazy as I am reading this right now I am smoking a cigarette

To my surprise, it was a doddle to quit smoking after numerous failed attempts. Nicotine chewing gum did the trick for me, once i had read the instructions properly.

Smoke or not smoke is a personal decision, i don't smoke, think its a very bad thing, not only because of genetic mutations, i think a woman must always think about her health because her health is the health of her children.

Thanks friend for sharing important news. Cigarette is greatly bad thing for everyone that easily addict people. I think it only one thing who have no positive side.
