And they villify us for the detainees in Guantanamo???
They are the peaceful religion????
Crap on them!@!!
Yup, and there is more. The Saudi population is so repressed by its decadent Royal family that many have turned to Islamic fundamentalism. Most of 9/11 hijackers and Osama Bin Ladin were Saudis.
The Royal family regards the whole country as their own property. In fact even the name Saudi Arabia is named after the house of Saud. An example of their opulence can be found here
Saudi Prince buys an Airbus A380 Palace in the Sky - Webmaster Discussion Forums

Got to remember that the official religion of SA is an offshoot of Islam and it is very hateful, very anti woman and child, etc etc etc
And the royals support only that offshoot:
A majority of Saudi citizens are Sunni Muslims. Within Sunni Islam, The strict interpretation of Islam taught by the Salafi or Wahhabi school is the only officially recognized religion.
The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an Islamic theocratic monarchy in which Islam is the official religion; the law requires that all Saudi citizens be Muslims. Religious freedom is virtually non-existent. The Government does not provide legal recognition or protection for freedom of religion, and it is severely restricted in practice. The public practice of non-Muslim religions is prohibited. As a matter of policy, the Government guarantees and protects the right to private worship for all, including non-Muslims who gather in homes for religious practice; however, this right is not always respected in practice and is not defined in law. The Saudi Mutaween (Arabic: مطوعين), or Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (i.e., the religious police), enforces the prohibition on the public practice of non-Muslim religions. The Government claims to recognize the right of non-Muslims to worship in private; it does not always respect this right in practice.
Apparently, the founder of Wahhabism and an ancestor of the present royal family made a pact more than 200 years ago that the royal family will have control over civil and military matters, whereas Wahhabism would be the guiding religious orthodoxy of the Arabian Penisula.
My aunt and uncle used to run a chain of Chinese restaurants there, and there are just so many horror stories.
1. One of their competitors had their whole chain of restaurants closed down, were jailed briefly, and then expelled for displaying a tiny smiling buddha in one of their restaurants.
2. In one of their restaurants during Ramandan, the religious police caught some people who were still inside the restaurant and everybody in that restaurant were whipped on the spot.
3. Once, a prince walked into one of their restaurants with two companions and demanded to have a 12 person table that was reserved. When the restaurant refused, he promptly called the police over to arrest the whole restaurant! This crisis was only defused when my uncle sped over there and offered the prince free meals at whatever price at any of their restaurants for life! Mind you though, the prince did prove to be of use to them afterwards when they need various matters to sort out!
Every expatriate I have met have said more or less the same thing about Saudi Arabia. It is one of the most rascist, xenophobic, and medieval societies around. Recently a chauffeur was beheaded after being accused of witchcraft by his employer who was a prince. The king can actually order a person to be beheaded by decree without going through the courts. Not to mention al the amputations that go on, just how medieval can you get?

Got raped 14x! that's far too many times sad is she get additional 200 lashes, what a life.

It's obvious that if you get raped there, etc, you just shouldn't report it, or you bring more trouble on yourself, did the woman herself report it? I'd be terrified to leave my home or report anything, period.

Ok don't report the crime just do the justice by yourself kill them all! :3079:
Hey Kalina are you the owner of that modded mustang forum I like the mustang in the banner.

News Update
I urge President Bush to call on King Abdullah to cancel the ruling and drop all charges against this woman - Hillary Clinton

Really that whole country shoud yust be nuked and get all the woman out of there since its so ifusly men are running the country I think thats bad for a country that its only ran by men. Well mostly in those parts in the world where there mind is stil underdevelopt I mean in europe or usa woudt hapen such a thing..
To put this into perspective, things were every way as bad with Christian countries in the past as well e.g. the inquisition, crusades. It is just that a few muslim countires are still stuck in the Middle ages.
Like the Bible, the Koran can be interpreted in many different ways, and each person may interpret differently. There are clear verses asking Muslims to respect Jews and Christians as brothers.
Two Indonesian helpers who have worked for us have no problems with wearing shorts and T-shirts in front of men. Although the Teddy bear is another extreme example. However I think sometimes I think some foreigners go too far in disrespecting local customs e.g. European who persistent sunbathe topless in Muslim countries despite being told not to in travel brochures and hotel leaflets.
Its quite simpel or your forbit it, or dont complain about it. Those countrys trive on tourisem so they wont complain about it then the locals shoudt ether cause they wont mind saying cheap price in ye face if ye know what i mean. Its a bit selfish cind of people they only want there advantages but not the downsides they need to learn to share if ye ask me.
It is forbidden by law in those countries, and it is printed in all holiday and hotel brochures. The fact is that foreigners flout the local laws knowingly and openly. It is just that people there are too polite to complain.
There is a big difference between this and the teddy bear case. If you are a traveller, you should do you your best to respect local laws and customs, just as you would expect tourists coming to the Netherlands would.
Kinda like the death sentence if you bring drugs into some countries. If you are lucky enough to escape the death sentence, you can get life imprisonment.
On a side note, the British teacher has been released
