Thread: How to get indexed on yahoo?

Wh i am not getting indexed at yaho whats the problem there are some pages from my site listed but gogle have 1000's of my pages indeed and yahoo doesnt why whats wrong with yahoo crawler? is it not good with crawling?

How old is your site? Is your site unique? There are a million and one things that could cause your site to be indexed and or not indexed.

i agree...have you submit your site to yahoo??oh and your sitemap...have you??improve your link popularity and those sites with your link will be crawled and crawlers will see your site and it might get indexed...be patient...but curious how old is your site??

its an year old ... i have submitted the site to yahoo recently may be people do not use keywords which match my site but i have a good traffic from google ...

It's odd that your site is indexed in G but not in Yahoo!
As I see,Yahoo! works better in indexing sites..

If your site is not indexed in yahoo, no matter if people use the keyword or not..
Or are you asking that your site is indexed, but not ranked well in yahoo as it does in google?

I think good meta tags are needed here. I'm #25 if I remember right on google, on page 2 on MSN and page 1 #2 on yahoo..vbSEO will help on this too....well I think???

Charlie, vBSEO is for use with vbulletin, we don't know if the thread creator is running a forum nor using vbulletin.

^^^ Absolutely i am using php with sessions like the data comes from database yes i am ranked good with yahoo but not being indexed in yahoo like i get most of the traffic from googl and non other maybe cause google is the good in crwaling than anyother search engine online

I just found out I am #1 on Yahoo for my keywords, but really, what's it worth? I do get traffic from it and it is for my main business.

^^ if you are ranked high for the keyword which runs you businss you earn 1000's a month as many people doesnt use yahoo search but google if you have ranked high in google then your are sure to make 1000's a month try statcounter

this will help you know where the traffic is jumping into your site what keywords you are high ranked for ...

I think that webmasters get better stat analysis with awstats and Google analyzer.. BTW did you see my above post? I asked you something..

To answer the question "How to get indexed in Yahoo?" I use the same method to get indexed in the 3 big SEs and that is forum signature links.

Articles, directories and relevant blog comments seem to work pretty good in yahoo.

Google is more web 2.0 and likes feeds, social bookmarks and blog posts.

My site compset . net is over 6 months old and I am getting around 100 unique visitors a day through Google Search. I submitted my site around 5 months ago to Yahoo but its really killing that I have not received a SINGLE visitor through Yahoo search.
Can someone look at my site and tell me what is going wrong?
I have sitemap and it is already submitted to Yahoo when I submitted my site 5 months ago. Its like I feel, Yahoo hates my site
Please suggest what to do, I am losing a lot of traffic from Yahoo search.

Yahoo places more emphasis on keywords in the domain or keyword in the page name.

Keyword stuffing seems to work on yahoo.

One more tip. I worked for me. Use Yahoo answers. I mean you can answer some questions and include you site as a source. But it will mot work if you answer the question that is not connected with the topic of your site.

Try to latch onto a website that is already ranked in Yahoo and other search engines.

my site yahoo index pages is large variation of pages show.

I have the same problem as some other people here. My site actually does well in yahoo searches- much better than in google searches actually but after a year yahoo only indexed something like 7 of my 25 pages. Also, yahoo searches only result in my main page while google searches are able to locate my deeper pages.
Yahoo hosts my site too. my sitemap is stored on their server and after a year they can't even find 2/3 of my pages. Is there something more should be doing?

1.Age of domain
2.keyword in the domain name
2.Keyword in the posts/text
4.meta keywords and description and off course on number of back links .

i has a similiar problem, and resubmitted my site and answered 50 yahoo answers.... don't know which one helped by i was listed within 30 days of doing so ....

ps i thought having loads of yahoo links (although no follow would help yahoo listing...ps i also added to yahoo directories (free) australia, china, ireland.

In my opinion, #1 and #2 are not related to the speed of indexing pages by Yahoo at all. These are ranking parameters not indexing factors.
