My yahoo mail is one of the oldest mail I have and it is one of my main e-mail too but lately it is full of spam even in inbox..I wonder if how I can lessen it or perhaps do I need to change into another e-mail ?

You write a mail to yahoo customer care and check what they say.. yahoo has improved a lot now..

You can also remove them manually. Just check out your spam mail and if they are not important than delete all spam mail which directly removes all Spam mails.

You can also unsubscribe on websites that are sending you spam messages.

Some of those unsubscribe links are actually "fake". Once a user clicks and unsubscribes, it actually tells the spammer that e-mail address is active.

I do agree sometimes I am afraid to click mails from unknown sources as it may cause viruses in my end so I rather have them removed manually but my golly I am getting thousands spam mails a day and some spam mails in my inbox too ...

You know i have the same problem, but i just delete them and i am not so worried as i read only the letters that i know.

I check my Yahoo Mail about once every 2-3 months. I find google is better with the spam control, so I don't really use Yahoo anymore.

Just manage your yahoo mail. If you already see that the message is spam, then put them in spam options. That's what I'm doing.

Use the mail filter option to keep the spams at bay and I fear that you have subscribed to some newsletter and this is the reason why your mail account if full of spams.

You are not along with your problem, I have my mail on gmail and it is also sometimes full of spam But Gmail has one advantage - it has a separate folder specially for spam letters

Don't be bother with it just stayed them in your spam filter.

I also face the same problem; I am getting a lot of spam emails, some of them are caught by the spam filter and some are not.

I am getting a lot of spam emails on my other mail accounts, so Yahoo is not the only one. Spammers are numerous and endless... you can't stop them all, anyway!

all spam mail transfer to spam folder.......it is easy way to get rid of them......

I never use yahoo mail anymore. Mine expired.

I am using yahoo mail for me it not happen once also. i don't know how it happen to mails

A lot of the spammers do not play by the rules though. Clicking on an unsubscribe link is roughly translated by them as saying "Hey you guys, please feel free to bombard me with hundreds of offers relating to weight loss and male enhancement".

What I do is anytime I get one right then I I go to the options and ban them as said in early post that unsubscribe link does not work most of the time.

Like said above contacting their support is great idea. or you can try to mark as many as possible as spam.

you need to setup sophisticated email filtering and turn off all notifications from Yahoo

I think you should activate the SPAM Filter! i dont experience such thing after turning on the Spam Filter

Well than, I got another problem that, after I send 10 or 20 mails to my customers, and then, I can't send any more!! What's the problem??

yahoo mail improved significantly over the past two years.

try to do the following

1.most marketing emails that you get should have a unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. these websites try to follow the can spam act of 2003. unsubscribe from those email lists. typically it's a simple process.

2. try to limit the amount of freebies that you sign up for.

3. mark the emails that don't have an unsubscribe link as spam.

i understand you very good, now i am thinking about changing my oldest and the most useful email because of spam, i dont want to do it but after long time of trying to do smth understand that have no other choice(((((

try using some filters, else you can also move them to spam box, so next time they will directly move to spam folder and you can delete them

For blocking spam email, AIM's is better to use.

That's why I've moved to Gmail, WAY better. You will notice no spam anymore.

Just mark the mails as spam.

I think you have to filter them for spam immediately deleted by yahoo.

Yahoo is notorious for its spam problem, but has made prodigious strides in correcting the issue. You can help by being mindful whenever you are joining sites or newletters or feeds or networks, etc, to rejecting offers, opting out of mailings, and being careful of where your post your email address online.

Definitely make sure your spam filter is on and be careful who/what you are listing your email address with. Whevever you do get spam, take a second to follow the opt out link. THis will help reduce the level of spam you receive

Have switched on your spam filter if so you will get spam mail on your spam please avoid registering in unwanted site which you dont trust

ya i completely agree with you. it is some time when you click on unknown source and you will getting spam mails from that.

Yes I agree, my yahoo mail account is also full of spam. I switched over to gmail which is much better.

Just use word filters like: bank of africa, viagra, loan, credit...
Word filters saved my life few months ago.
