Thread: Denied by Yahoo Directory??

I have a question, which spawned from another thread in here today but I wanted to put it in the right topic. Has anyone in here applied for and paid for the Yahoo Directory listing, and been denied? I have never heard of anyone being denied after paying and Yahoo saying they approve every site you would think someone is ticked off after paying $300 and not getting in.

I'd be pretty ticked if I paid and wasn't approved. :thumbsdown_still:

I agree, although we did do it for one site and got accepted pretty quickly which makes me think, how hard are they really looking at these sites. You would think though, to keep their integrity that they would have denied some spammy site.

I still don't know If it can bring in that much amount of traffic, But It is definately not worth $300 ! I think that there is also no option to ask for a refund also.

Isn't the $300 just for one year? That's a lot of pesos.

I've never heard of anyone being rejected. I would think that the $300 fee keeps the junk sites from applying.

Never been rejected by Yahoo and I've submitted dozens of sites over the years. I think their guidelines are pretty straightforward though so as long as you avoid really obvious mistakes, you shouldn't have a problem.

Business.com is a different story, though ;-)

$300 is a lot to flush down the toliet. It's probably better spent on a ppc campaign.

Not that I'd pay it, but I would think it would be a far better investment than paying $50.00 to some directory for a link, when that directory might produce 10 or 15 hits per month. I wouldn't even apply for Yahoo directory for the fact that I would be too apprehensive of becoming one of the few that are rejected without hope for a refund. I would hate to pay $300 to have someone tell me my site sucks....I can hear that anywhere for free. Last I knew, Yahoo Directory was $200, did it go up?
