Thread: What is your thinking about Yahoo xml sitemaps?

While Yahoo xml sitemaps are supposed to be different from Google xml sitemaps, I have heard a lot about the Yahoo xml sitemaps. Do you think that this is true? Is there any difference between these xml sitemaps according to you? I have experienced different results from having the same sitemap in case of Google and Yahoo where one has accepted it well and the other hasn’t at all. I am not sure if I was right in my observation as it is a complicated area. Do you know what can be done in this particular scenario? Can someone help?

No difference at all... Google has some xml sitemap extensions. But the XML sitemaps extension base is supported by both.

Sitemap doesn't differ with search engines.. its just an xml file which gives insight about your website instead of crawling each and every page all the time..

You should experiment with it and see if they are the same. I like experimenting so, you should give it a go yourself and see if there's any difference.

Yahoo will provide you with a file to upload to your web server. Once authenticated you can upload your XML sitemap.
